Year 12

BOOK in a time to speak with Mrs Campbell and Mrs Hrcka!  Though bookings are not essential, it may be helpful to lock in a specific time within your schedule. Visit https://www.northsydneygirlshighcareers.com/

CHOICES, CHOICES

Year 12 is the time to make some decisions about future study and/or work options. Having an understanding of your strengths and interests will help to navigate the myriad of choices for tertiary study, work, and life beyond school! Make use of the range of people around you who can support you on your journey; year advisors, teachers, friends, parents, coaches, mentors and your CAREERS ADVISERS.

When you have a clear idea of your strongest subjects, dig deeper into specific university course application requirements e.g. UCAT for Medicine, LAT for Law at UNSW, Cadetship options in Business or Finance, portfolio, interview preparation, double degrees, and so on. It is also worth considering Direct Entry, Early Offer schemes and Scholarships. Be sure to investigate the specific institution website for accurate and up to date information on submission requirements, eligibility and cut off dates!

CAREER EVENTS, PRESENTATIONS & LUNCH TIME TALKS

We provide students with up-to-date information and presentations on career pathways, university ambassadors, scholarships, early entry, cadetships, study options and industry contacts on a regular basis throughout each term.

Keep an eye on the Careers TEAMS channel for news and updates!

UNIVERSITY OPEN DAYS

We strongly encourage students to attend information sessions, webinars and university Open Days, usually held in August and September. Open days provide students with the opportunity to find out about courses; attend lectures and on-site activities; and to discuss course requirements with academics and university representatives. Students are encouraged to not only collect written information, but to actively engage with lecturers, staff and current students to ask about course structures, subjects, scholarships, support, university culture and other opportunities.

Some open days occur in the virtual space which provide flexibility too.  For more information, check out the UAC link for open days: www.uac.edu.au/open‐days
