Year 11

RESEARCH & PREPARATION:

Year 11 is the time to start forward-planning for future study and/or work options. It is key to recognise your strengths and interests as you head into your final years of high school. We encourage students to revisit their Morrisby Profile and retake the career interests quiz if having trouble with ideas for options after school and year 12 subject selections.

Once you have an idea of your strongest subjects, research university courses and options for specialisation. You might also look into Direct Entry, Early Entry schemes and Scholarships. Be sure to investigate the specific institution website for accurate and up to date information on submission requirements, eligibility and cut off dates!

Not sure where to start? Come to speak with Mrs Campbell and Mrs Hrcka!

CAREER EVENTS, PRESENTATIONS & LUNCH TIME TALKS

These valuable opportunities provide students the chance to engage in presentations and ask questions of university representatives as well as practical activities designed to help foster career decision-making skills.

Keep an eye on the Careers TEAMS channel for news and updates!

UNIVERSITY OPEN DAYS

We strongly encourage students to attend information sessions, webinars and university Open Days, usually held in August and September. Open days provide students with the opportunity to find out about courses; attend lectures and on-site activities; and to discuss course requirements with academics and university representatives. Students are encouraged to not only collect written information, but to actively engage with lecturers, staff and current students to ask about course structures, subjects, scholarships, support, university culture and other opportunities.

Some open days occur in the virtual space which provide flexibility too.  For more information, check out the UAC link for open days: www.uac.edu.au/open‐days
