Technology

Technology is important in schools because it makes learning more engaging, helps teachers personalise lessons, and prepares students for a digital world. It gives access to useful tools and resources that support learning and skill development.

Simplifying the process - Where can you buy a compatible device?

Parents are welcome to purchase devices anywhere. There are many retailers offering competitive outright purchasing options.

The BYOD Program requires all students in Years 7-12 to bring their own computing device to school each day. This personal computing device needs to meet the Device Specifications that are outlined by the school and listed below.

Other Considerations:

Back up Storage - Consider a portable hard drive as an appropriate source of back up storage for essential documents.

Software for BYOD

Software & Web tools licensed for Students

G Suite (Google Apps for Education)

G Suite (Google Apps for Education) is a suite of tools that allows students and teachers to collaborate in real-time to create documents, presentations, surveys, spreadsheets and even websites. The service includes Google Classroom, a way for teachers to manage assignments, share resources and communicate with students online. We encourage parents to sit down with their children to look at the school work stored within their child’s Google Drive or Classrooms.

Access to G Suite including Google Classroom is via the  student portal.

Microsoft Office 365

Students can log into their portal, go to Microsoft Office 365 and install Office 365 on their personal device.

The NSW Department of Education have now enabled Single-Sign-On for all current students. Students can now access their favourite Adobe applications using their school email address.
