Application and enrolment information
North Sydney Girls High School is a fully selective high school and does not have a local area intake.
Students interested in enrolling must be Australian citizens or holders of a visa granting permanent resident status in Australia. Students born in Australia are considered to be Australian citizens only if either PARENT (not guardian or caregiver) was an Australian citizen or permanent resident at the time of the student's birth.
Citizens of New Zealand are eligible for selective high school entry but permanent residents of New Zealand are not.
All successful applicants will be required to show original documentation such as certificates of evidence or Australian Citizenship, birth certificates or visas before enrolment can be finalised.
Offers of enrolment will be terminated if placement is made using false or misleading information.
The selective high school placement process for Year 7 is administered by the Selective Education Unit of the NSW Department of Education. All enquiries should be directed to this Unit. The exam is held in Year 6 of primary school, with applications due in Year 5.

As an academically selective school, North Sydney Girls High has a rigorous admissions process. Students seeking enrolment into Years 8-11 are coordinated through the school, they must sit a Selection Test. Please note students are generally not admitted into Year 12. North Sydney Girls do not have our own online application form. The general application form and information is available on the Department of Education website.

Registration Opens: Wednesday 17 June 2026
Registration Closes: Friday 24 July 2026 at 3pm (AEST)
Edutest entry test date: Saturday 15 August 2026 at 9am (AEST) at North Sydney Girls School Hall
All interstate or overseas applicants must contact Edutest Remote directly at least three (3) weeks prior to the examination date to arrange remote testing. Please note that remote testing incurs an additional fee. Arrangements for remote online testing cannot be made during the week immediately preceding the examination.
Outcome advice is sent to applicants in Term 4.
Please complete 2027 Online Application form, NSG Applications also require 2025 Semester 1 & 2 reports and 2026 Semester 1 along with any extra-curricular activities and the most recent Naplan. Please mark clearly the student's name and address and what year the students is applying for entry in 2027.
All applications must be sent via post or handed in at the Administration Office. Applications will not be accepted via email.

Test registration and payment is via the Edutest website from Wednesday 17 June 2026. Registrations close at 3.00pm on Friday 24 July 2026. The application processing fee and Edutest fee must be paid direct to Edutest. It should be noted that only a small number of spots in Years 8 through 11 open up each year.
